Ms. Urmila Sarkar, Chief, Education, UNICEF India gives an overview of the Right to Education Act, the progress achieved so far and challenges ahead in implementing the Act in India. The Right to Education has been successful in bringing more children to school and improving the facilities and we have almost reached the first milestone of near universal enrolment. However quality of education and improvement in learning outcomes still remains a challenge.
